Asia's new knit-textile and knitwear business magazine will expand service to North America. "In addition to its readership base in Asia," said the magazine's editor J.U. Ahmed, "it will cater to the apparel retailers in USA, Canada, European Union, Australia and NewZeland, with informatin on the production developments at the sources."

The monthly magazine, planned to be launched in January, 2006, will mainly serve the knitting and garment industries of Southeast Asia, specially, in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Nepal, in the newly emerging textile and clothing cluster of South Asia-Indo China region, which capitalizes chiefly on the duty free access to the Western economies.

"EKG will be a link between the buyers and sellers of garments and will meet the demand of an affective advertising medium for the suppliers of yarns, fabrics, accessories, machineries, equipments, dyes, and other services," said Mr. Ahmed.

"The five regional countries' yearly imports of about US$5 billion worth of clothing industry rawmaterials and machineries are highly lucrative to expoloit by the suppliers in USA, Canada and Europe," Mr. Ahmed pointed out. He said, the market is growing faster, proportionately, along with the exports of clothings which will fetch a total US$10 billion this year, mainly from the West, with a continued double digit growth.

In addition to EKG's main editorial coverages on business, industry and market, there will be an extra section, NEW PRODUCT NEWS & PRODUCT UPDATES, which will contain information on new products (garments, yarns, machinery, etc), to be supplied by the manufacturers and suppliers themselves targeting their buyers for publication for free with no obligation.
